argh >.<'''''' too many awesome suggestions.....

I will probably end up doing several.. Q.Q

... maybe 1 central, HUEG piece, and a few smaller ones.

I dunno, I need a cup of hot cocoa, my pink fluffy slippers, and a fat, empty notebook.

Never! !

*tries to convince*

But aside from the little plug, I think the advice was sound. I think you'd want to go out with a bang, instead of a cracked window kind of thing with a billion irregularly shaped shrapnels

14-16 hours before the Challenge is over!

I'll announce the "winner(s)" pretty soon after, I hope.

Oh, and because I'm bored...

could be (obv) but even then it wouldn't make sense.
I suppose I should've added that whilst you can, in chinese and sometimes in english, add contradicting nouns and adjectives with one another to create some sort of graspable sense, it's impossible to do in old norse. This would be difficult to describe in few words :/
But anyway, it's english x old norse, what kinda sense should I really be expecting -_-'

5-6 hours left of the challenge! O.O

agreed, I wanna see it too~!
I do like yours tho, it's fun and I can totally imagine it:}

humhum, I did say I'd put *something* up

for any commish of significance, Alacrity is always my subject of choice .. not this time.
Epic, Alacrity~? hardly, she is anything but ..
She would be miscast in a leading role, the limelight belongs to a real hero.

Perhaps the most epic moment for any hero is one's permadeath (&/or ?apotheosis), eventual for most by the time we reach GW2

The scene will celebrate the culmination of a Guild Wars hero, a character of your choosing ~ Tzunedaine if she fits.
(not Alacrity, her end is far more ignominous .. and ominous)

A spectacular top-down view of our mangled hero, clutching weapon and resplendant in armour, arrayed on an enormous burning pyre (something the size of a Charr Effigy) as she is sent to her own Valhalla ~

mourners far below hold one another, bow heads, or gape in awe, tears streaming down faces.
Someone plays the pipes, another sacrifices a phoenix
We recognise a few, perhaps heroes like Jora, or participants of this thread ..

an epic sendoff requires a melodramatic requiem

http://uk.video.yahoo.com/watch/4528575

http://www.dailymotion.com/related/x...age_videogames

** Alacrity cannot tempt Tzu with plat~!

that's cos of your already epic painting of her & Caspar, Ala has already pledged Tzu substantial remuneration ~

Like many others, choose this only if you feel like painting it, an unlikely proposition given the sombre (potentially glorious) theme

for a change of pace, some epic cheer

♪♫ let's put on some music ♫ ♪
~ always brings back to me past drunken romances .. ah, sweet times, lol~!

scene: Tzu's place, ten years into the future

Our heroes have got together once more to celebrate their times together.

Tzu is the focus of course; also present are the participants in this thread, as friends or gatecrashers.
The last ten years have been very good to some, and left others worn & weary ~
they wear a medley of costumes, from partygear to GW concept clothes, their fave outfits, or dressed to impress
A chance for old acquaintances to catch up, congratulate, gloat or envy one another

There will be fireworks~!

the usual antics of any reunion are all there ~

eating drinking dancing and music
party games, tomfoolery and debauchery
what's a get-together without drunken snogging, tho shalln't be fair to name volunteers~? or .. hehe:}

Zodiac, Aserath and Nemesis are in animated converstation, sharing and comparing war stories

Sue Aside dances on the tables to the tune of Farai's fiddle, whilst happydrunk Pansy sings claps and cheers

Shala (& AlCapone) are monopolising Tzu's attentions with Morag & Starr, all are dressed to devastate

they regard Blue, who impresses the Queen clique with his latest partytrick, whilst others look on in amazement

Lucy Gwyneth, acj2123's Devona and Fey dance, sillhouettes illumined against the bonfire

oh, and a tipsy pixy somewhere in there, flirting with anyone who gives her attention~! ("where's Alacrity")

there are others to be sure, apologies to those I've missed ~

eep, two~! am cheating~! but felt need to submit a lighthearted epic to balance the morbid one previous .. I srsly can not expect you to paint this~!
(unless you are crazy enough to paint a dozen plus individuals doing different unrelated things)

I shalln't tempt you with anything either, tho of course you know I tip well .. Ala does has rank in People Owe Me :}

oh wow, Ala O.O epic suggestions indeed!
I quite like the permadeath-one + I believe Blue won't bite my head off if I choose that one.
The second, "grand party" idea is great, too. I like how you included every participant of this thread!

This is gonna be such a tough one >.<
I agree with Blue; I should just make 1 huge artwork, not several small ones, but there's a chance I get bored/blocked when working on the big piece, and then I might degress to sketches and chibis just to get back into the mood. If I do, I'll make sure I pick ideas from this thread.

Btw, random, but; \ ^o^ / ! My bearded dragon just caught the cricket which has been eluding his jagged jaws for three days now! What a glorious victory! I'm so proud of him XD

Tzu, you have a bearded dragon? Lucky! My best friend has one and they're so awesome

Also, wow, Smilin's second idea is awesomely epic. Big party of doom with all of the usual suspects around here. Though Farai would be more likely to play flute than violin

S'pose I'd better get in before the close, looks like there's some tough competition though.

I'm going to offer up 200k for this one. Hopefully some epic imagery will manage to tip the scales alongside that. Plus I have an epic soundtrack to boot. (see later in post.)

So, down to business. Gonna be a little cliche and selfish on this and say an epic duel between good and evil (or at least between good and mischievous), represented by my characters of course! The scene takes place on a plateau high above a massive battle taking place. The two are engaged in an all out magical power struggle, unleashing everything they have at each other. See my brilliantly painted wondersketch for clearer example. Wow that thing is embarassing, lol.

In the valley far below will be hundreds....dozens....a few....however many you are willing to draw should you choose this of people engaged in similar epic conflicts. The terrain will be something dark and bleak like the Ring of Fire Islands, in contrast to the energetic hues of the characters involved.

So without further ado, the characters... Not going to bother with huge backstory or anything (unless you want me to), don't know that it would really help with such a concept. As you'll see, they're both themed around a particular colour, and it would be great if the same was prevalent in the scene. Some sort of aura matching their colour themes to show the immense sort of power being thrown around would also be rather epic.

Kitara, the elementalist will represent the good half of the battle...
Portrait, Profile, Casting

And Kali, the necromancer will take an opposing position.
Portrait, Profile, Casting

The poses in the above images are simply for inspiration. Something similar would be great, but anything you find more fitting or epic would also be brilliant.

And finally, a soundtrack to inspire you! I'm a big fan so I'm going to shamelessly promote Nightwish and their newest album, Dark Passion Play. This one in particular, though this and this are always good too (If you ignore the videos. Just the highest quality sound I could find on YouTube). I think you'll agree it's a soundtrack worthy of such an epic masterpiece!

Wow.... that post took a bit of effort. Feel free to message me if you're interested for any extra details.

Good luck to everyone participating in this, can't wait to see who is chosen, and what the end result is. Most importantly, have fun doing it Tzu!

ooh, happy to see more people participate! ^^ nothing's set in stone yet, obviously!

I'm gonna close the Challenge in 1 or 2 hours time, leaving it open a couple of hours more for the "savespot"-people in page 1 - but no longer!

Remember, even if you do not score the main piece, you could walk away with a freebie of a simpler kind! And don't worry, even if you've said you will pay, if I make a chibi or something instead, you do NOT have to pay.
